The RTX Remix Open Beta test starts on January 22
RTX Remix is a platform that allows enthusiasts to create high—quality remasters of old games. NVIDIA has announced that starting from January 22, everyone will be able to test it.
The platform gives modders the opportunity to improve the texture quality in games up to 4K using AI, change assets, add ray tracing along with other modern graphic effects and much more.
RTX Remix is built on the basis of the integrated NVIDIA Omniverse platform for collaboration on graphics in games. It supports games on DirectX 8 and 9. For example, Call of Duty 2, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Garry's Mod, Freedom Fighters, Need for Speed Underground 2 and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.
Earlier, with the help of RTX Remix, enthusiasts upgraded Portal. An unofficial remaster of Half-Life 2, created by Orbifold Studios, is currently in the works.
