Square Enix will close a mobile game based on the "Steel Alchemist"
Square Enix has abandoned Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile. She announced that the game will cease to exist on March 29, 2024: less than two years after its release.
The ability to make in-game purchases has already been removed from Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile.
Square Enix explained that although gamers praise Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile for respecting the original, they are unhappy with the quality of the game. The developers put a lot of effort into fixing Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile, but over time, Square Enix found it difficult to maintain the structure of the project team for further work on the game.
Nevertheless, Square Enix wants to tell the story to the end, which was supposed to be embodied in Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile. In January, the company will begin releasing episodes of an audio drama on YouTube once a week, continuing the plot of the game.
Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile was released on August 4, 2022 on iOS and Android and was available only in Japan. According to the AppMagic analytical platform, to date, the game has earned over $30.8 million with IAP and collected 1.15 million downloads.
