Former Dragon Age: Dreadwolf testers will hold a picket near the BioWare office
A month ago, Keywords Studios terminated contracts with testers who worked on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and other BioWare games. As a result, the testers decided to hold a picket demanding that the layoffs be canceled.
The testers claim that they were fired unfairly. They believe that one of the reasons for the layoffs was their creation of a trade union at Keywords Studios.
The picket will take place near the BioWare office in Edmonton. According to the Game Developer publication, BioWare itself, as well as Electronic Arts, tried to ban testers from striking here. The companies appealed to the Alberta Labor Relations Board, pointing out that the dismissed worked remotely, which means they do not have the right to picket at the office. However, the Council did not agree with this argument.
