Capcom: at the technical level, mods differ little from cheats
It seems that anti-cheat in Capcom games can block not only cheats, but also mods. One of the company's developers stated during the Capcom Open Conference Professional RE:2023 that, from the point of view of implementation, mods work like cheats and other malware.
The only exception is mods that are officially supported.
The developer added that sometimes mods are really worth blocking. Some of them can ruin a company's reputation, as mods can be mistaken for official content. They can also cause errors in the game, and as a result, the technical support department will have more work.
However, the developer noted that most mods still "have a positive impact on the game."
