The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposed to include games developed on foreign engines in the register of domestic software
Russian studios that make games on Unity, Unreal Engine and other full-cycle foreign engines may be allowed to apply for inclusion of their projects in the registry of domestic software. This proposal was made by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, Kommersant reports.
Officials want to make this opportunity temporary. According to their plan, it will be available until "full-featured analogues" of foreign engines appear in the registry. For example, the Nau Engine.
It is planned that only games whose developers did not pay royalties for using a foreign engine will be able to claim a place in the registry.
