In 2024, Malaysia will allocate over $6 million in grants and subsidies for foreign game developers
The Malaysian authorities want to make the country more attractive for foreign game developers. In 2024, a special gaming fund for 30 million Malaysian ringgit ($6.3 million) will be launched in Malaysia.
The money from the fund will be used for grants and subsidies for large gaming companies that agree to open an office in the country or invest in hiring local developers.
According to the SoyaCincau portal, previously regional offices in Malaysia were launched by companies such as PlayStation, Bandai Namco, Streamline Studios.
