Media: the head of Disney is offered to turn the corporation into a gaming giant
The deputy heads of Disney Bob Iger recommend that he strengthen the corporation's presence in the gaming market, according to Bloomberg sources. Managers believe that in addition to selling licenses for their franchises, it's time for Disney to start publishing games.
They offer Iger to buy a major publisher. For example, Electronic Arts (EA). But, as Bloomberg writes, the head of Disney is still "evasive" in responding to their proposal.
Disney has been cooperating with EA for a long time. It was EA that in 2013 received the exclusive rights to create Star Wars games. Its subsidiary studios are also working on titles in the Marvel universe. In 2022, there were rumors that EA was in talks to sell the company, and Disney was named as one of the potential buyers.
