SEGA announced a restructuring and canceled the HYENAS shooter

The Japanese SEGA Corporation has decided to restructure, mainly in its European divisions. As part of it, SEGA canceled the HYENAS multiplayer shooter, developed by Creative Assembly, and a number of other unannounced games.

SEGA explained that due to COVID-19 and economic problems in Europe, its revenues have declined sharply. The corporation expects to face a record loss of 14.3 billion rubles this fiscal year, or approximately $95.7 million.

According to SEGA, it has carefully studied the game portfolio of all its teams in Europe. Now the corporation intends to reduce "various fixed costs" in some studios, including the Creative Assembly.

In addition to Creative Assembly, the list of European SEGA studios includes Rovio Entertainment, Two Point Studios, Sports Interactive, Amplitude Studios and Hardlight.
