Yandex has bought Skazbuka— a platform with educational games for children
Zebrainy has sold a mobile platform with children's educational games Skazbuka to Yandex. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
According to Yandex, the platform will continue to operate under the same name. The Skazbuki team will move to Yandex, where it will continue to develop recommendation technologies for children.
The creator of Skazbuka, Kesha Skirnevsky, released the first version of the project in 2014, when the platform was available only in the App Store. It did not pay off, and after a conflict with partners, Skirnevsky removed it from the store. In its current form, Skazbuka was launched in 2018. To date, it has collected over 6 million downloads, and the number of games on the platform has exceeded 40.
