MAU Angry Birds is 200 million

In May, Rovio reported that the total number of downloads of all games under the Angry Birds franchise reached 1 billion. Not a huge amount, considering that, for example, the total number of all downloads from the App Store is 25 billion. Today, new details about the famous “bird” brand have become known.

At the world exhibition of audiovisual products MIPCOM, Rovio Executive Director Andrew Stalbow (Andrew Stalbow) said that the MAU of all projects in the Angry Birds series is 200 million. As for the DAU, it ranges from 20-30 million. For comparison, in the third fiscal quarter of 2012 alone, Apple sold 26 million iPhones worldwide.

Against this background, the results of other studio projects – Amazing Alex and Bad Piggies, to put it mildly, are not impressive. Only the number of free downloads of the logic puzzle about Alex on Google Play is somewhere between 1 and 5 million. As for similar indicators of “bad pigs”, there are somewhere from 5 to 10 million. However, against the background of a DAU of 30 million, the indicators of almost any application will look frivolous. Just yesterday we wrote about the “death” of social games on PC, where FarmVille 2 boasts a record 6.5 million daily active users. 

Anyway, Rovio assures that they now plan to focus on promoting their new brand – Bad Piggies.
