Genshin Impact voice Actors complained that They haven't been paid for their work for months
Two English—speaking actors, Brandon Winckler and Corina Boettger, complained about the situation with non-payment on their Twitter pages. For both of them, this step has become an extreme measure: they are running out of money.
Winkler was the first to write about the payment problem. On July 7, he left a tweet that he had been waiting for payment from an unnamed company for more than two months. On July 11, he noted that he was tired of waiting more than three months for payment from the largest video game project. On July 13, the actor said that for more than four months he has not been paid to work on the voice acting of Genshin Impact.
According to Resetera, whose users paid attention to the tweets, Winkler voiced several minor characters in the game. However, we have not found any official information about this. There is no Genshin Impact in the actor’s imbd profile, but the “additional voice acting” of Honkai: Star Rail, the next project of miHoYo, is mentioned.
Winkler’s words could be treated with a fair amount of skepticism, if not for one thing. After him, Bottger, whose name is mentioned in the lists of Genshin Impact voice actors, spoke about the situation with non—payment (for example, she voiced one of the most talkative characters in the game – the flying spirit Paimon, who is also the mascot of the project).
Bottger stated, without naming either the project or the name of the studio, that she was owed for months of work on a big game that earns billions. According to her, she is owed thousands of dollars.
