Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells has announced his retirement after 25 years in the studio
The studio that developed the Uncharted and Last of Us series is waiting for a reshuffle. Evan Wells, who held the position of its co-president, announced his imminent departure from the company in which he had worked since 1998.
Wells did not disclose the reasons for his resignation. However, in a letter to the team, he noted that he had discussed the current dismissal with other directors for more than a year, and with Neil Druckmann, the second co-president of Naughty Dog, even longer.
Wells will finalize it in the studio by the end of this year.
Also, the entire management team will be restructured in the studio until the end. A little later we will note how the positions of most managers will change, but it is not yet clear whether these permutations are mainly formal. So:
Drakman will take on the role of the creative head of Naughty Dog (Head of Creative);
Alison Mori, who previously served as the studio’s vice president, will be promoted to Studio Manager and Head of Operations;
▫️Arne Meyer, another Naughty Dog vice President, will become Head of Culture and Communications;
Christian Girling, another vice president, will become Head of Development (Head of Technology);
studio art director Eric Pangilian (Erick Pangilinan) and studio animation Director Jeremy Yates (Jeremy Yates) will become co-heads of the art division;
The biggest reshuffle is the promotion of The co-director of The Last of Us Part Two, Anthony Newman, to Head of Production and Design.
