In 2022, Russians spent three times less on mobile games than a year earlier

Last March, Apple and Google disabled payments for users from Russia in their mobile stores. This could not but affect the Russian mobile games market. As calculated in data.ai , in 2022, residents of the country spent three times less on games in the App Store and Google Play than in 2021.

In total, in 2022, Russian gamers left $343 million in mobile games. In 2021, their spending amounted to $1.05 billion, according to analysts.

The number of game downloads in Russia has also decreased, but not so significantly: from 2.73 billion to 2.63 billion. The most popular titles were Subway Surfers, Roblox, Geometry Dash, Going Balls and Durak Online.
