Ubisoft lays off around 60 employees "with no notice" at its US and UK offices
Ubisoft continues to reduce staff at some of its divisions. This time, dozens of customer service employees have been laid off.
- The information about job cuts was first shared by Ubisoft social operations manager Matthew Hayes, who noted that about 60 people “were laid off today with no notice.”

- Ubisoft confirmed the job cuts, with its representative saying that “Ubisoft’s Customer Relation Center team is evolving its organization to focus on where we can have a significant impact while remaining steadfast in our commitment to consistently support our players anywhere in the world” (via GamesIndustry.biz).
- According to the company, employees at two offices in the US and the UK were affected by the layoffs.
In January, Ubisoft canceled three games and wrote off €500 million of R&D costs related to both upcoming and canceled titles. It also announced a “targeted restructuring”, which resulted in layoffs. Shortly after, comments from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot caused controversy and led to a strike.
In March, the company also announced a reorganization of its European subsidiaries. On top of that, it reportedly closed some of its offices in the region, with an internal email reading, “To meet the challenges of the future, Ubisoft’s management has decided to close a number of subsidiaries in Europe.
