Microsoft does not intend to liquidate the Russian division yet
Microsoft is not going to finally leave the Russian market. Microsoft Rus, a legal entity of a corporation in Russia, reported in its accounting report that at least at the end of March 2023, Microsoft did not consider the possibility of liquidating a business in the country.
Nevertheless, Microsoft Rus fired almost all employees. As of December 31, 2022, only two people worked in the Russian division of Microsoft. A year earlier, there were 376 of them.
Microsoft Rus earned 6.4 billion rubles in 2022, which is 6.5% less than in 2021. The gross profit of the division fell almost twice to 1.3 billion rubles, but the profit from sales increased by 21.47% to 946.5 million rubles.
