The Rothenbergs will develop video games

The SMP Racing organization founded by Boris Rotenberg wants to make a “Russian Assetto Corsa. She asked the Russian authorities to support the development of a racing simulator and offered to include it in the program of the tournament “Games of the Future“.

Alexander Moiseev, former CEO of Rutube and former deputy head of Gazprom-Media, will oversee the development of the game. In a comment to Kommersant, he said that about 300 developers are required to create a game of this level. The simulator is planned to be built on Unity, its minimum viable version (MVP) may be ready by the end of this year.

Moiseev added that the game from SMP Racing can be released in Russian digital stores like VK Play. VK Play has already reacted to Moiseev’s words, saying that “we are glad to new developers.”

SMP Racing did not say how much they plan to spend on the game. One of Kommersant’s sources, based on data on the number of developers, suggested that creating a simulator would cost $18 million a year.
