The number of active iOS and Android devices in China increased by 401 over the year%

Most of the iOS and Android devices are in the hands of users from the USA and China. And there are more of them in the United States. But by the end of the year, as Flurry assures, the Celestial Empire will overtake America in terms of penetration of mobile gadgets.

Over the past year alone, about 30 million new iOS and Android devices have been activated in the United States. At the same time, 100 million mobile devices were activated in China (to the question of the prospects of this market). If the penetration rates of these platforms remain at the same level until the end of the year, then by Christmas 2012, the active user base in China will be the largest in the world.

At the end of July 2012, Flurry had 165 million active iOS and Android devices in the USA and 128 million in China.

The share of global sessions in the United States has significantly decreased – from 52% in July 2011 to 36% in July 2012. Given the growth rate of the number of active devices in other countries, this is not surprising. Only in China over the last 12 months, the growth was 401%. Chile also performed very well in terms of rates – an increase of 279%. The penetration rates of devices in Russia are approximately on par with such developing countries as Vietnam, Mexico, Turkey – 189%.

Out of curiosity. The market with the most saturated gadgets was not the US market, as one might assume, but Singapore with a penetration of 92% among adults (from 15 to 62 years) residents. Moreover, the USA only closes the top five countries in terms of saturation with its 79%.
