Windows 8 will be released on October 26
As part of the annual meeting of Microsoft sales partners, Steven Sinofsky, Director of Windows Development, announced the release date of Windows 8. According to him, “this is the biggest event for the company in at least the last 17 years.” The new version of the Windows 8 client operating system will go on retail sale on October 26.
Windows 8 will be available in 109 languages, which will ensure sales in most countries of the world. The advantage of the operating system is the ability to install it on both personal computers and mobile devices. Windows 8 will be available in four editions: Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise and Windows RT. The first two will be available for free sale, the third is designed for organizations, the fourth is initially installed by manufacturers of ARM tablets.
Recall that now Microsoft, together with Intel, are already preparing 20 models of tablets based on Windows 8.
Users of Windows operating systems of the last three generations (XP, Vista and 7) will be able to install a new OS at a discounted price of $39.99 until January 31, 2013.
