iTunes has become available in Russia

On the night of December 3 to 4, the Russian version of the iTunes digital supermarket was launched, in which both domestic and foreign music albums and films are already available for purchase.

The library of audio tracks is gigantic (20 million songs, according to Apple itself). Not only popular Russian artists are available, but, at first glance, all Western ones that appeared earlier in the American iTunes. Whatever artist we introduced, with rare exceptions, like the Japanese The Seatbelts, the service knew him.

In iTunes, next to AC/DC and The Beatles from the domestic, appreciate the irony, such “stars” as Grigory Leps, Yelka and Sergey Lazarev are already being featured. The price of tracks and albums varies from artist to artist. But, as a rule, the cost for a composition starts from 15 rubles, for an album – from 149 rubles. Classics are more expensive, pop music is cheaper. Tops have already been formed, in the first place is the single Benedetta from the latest Bond series. All tracks are laid out in AAC format with a bitrate of 256 Kbit/sec.

With movies, not everything is so wonderful. The number of paintings is relatively small. But there are both new video rentals, like “Braveheart” and “The Avengers”, and domestic classics, including “Battleship Potemkin”. A trailer is attached to many films. Some of the paintings can not only be bought, but also rented (rental for 24 hours). Both SD and HD versions are available. The rental price is from – 69 rubles, for a movie from – 99 rubles, but, for example, for a “Stranger” Ridley Scott in HD quality, you will be asked for 299 rubles. 

Yes, it is also important, along with iTunes, the iTunes Match service has started its work, allowing you to store and play your digital library in the cloud, for 799 rubles a year.

iTunes also appeared today in Turkey, India, South Africa and 52 other countries.
