Microsoft: "We are ready to solve the problems that other companies have because of the deal with Activision Blizzard"

Microsoft President Brad Smith spoke to reporters on the eve of a closed hearing in the EU about the deal with Activision Blizzard. He said that the corporation would insist on approving the purchase and discuss solutions that would suit regulators and competitors.

Smith recalled that Microsoft had just signed a 10-year contract to release its games and Call of Duty on Nintendo consoles. The corporation is ready to conclude similar agreements with other platforms. According to Smith, Microsoft is ready to take other actions, but he did not specify which ones.

The European Commission will hold a hearing today, February 21. It will be attended by the heads of both Microsoft and Activision Blizzard, as well as Sony, Google, NVIDIA, Valve and Electronic Arts. Representatives of the European Federation of Game Developers (EGDF) will also attend the hearing.
