The main thing for the weekend (February 11-12)

YouTube removed The Day Before gameplay videos due to trademark infringement, Bungie and CCP Games announced donations to victims of earthquakes in Turkey and Syria – we tell you what happened in the gaming industry this weekend.

▪️On the official YouTube channel of the FNTASTIC studio, a video with The Day Before gameplay was blocked. According to the developers, this happened after a complaint from a person who owns the rights to the trademark “The Day Before” — previously, due to a similar complaint, the game was removed from Steam. The studio noted that the “so—called copyright holder” is the creator of a calendar application that has nothing to do with video games. He has already tried to contact FNTASTIC to discuss “something”.

▪️Electronic Arts has agreed a deal with the English Premier League. As the Sky News portal found out, the company will pay £488 million ($587.7 million) to retain the rights to use Manchester City, Liverpool and others football clubs in its games.

Bungie, through its Bungie Foundation, has launched a fundraising campaign for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. According to the authors of Destiny 2, in the first day they managed to collect over $ 200 thousand. The campaign will last until the end of February.

The authors of EVE Online also decided to help the residents of Turkey and Syria. The game has launched a PLEX for GOOD charity event, during which gamers can spend PLEX in-game currency for donations.

▪️Hogwarts Legacy has entered the top ten games with the highest peak online in the history of Steam. According to the SteamDB portal, on Sunday the online project reached the mark of 879,308 people. This allowed Hogwarts Legacy to take eighth place in the ranking, ahead of Goose Goose Duck, Apex Legends and Valheim.

Developer Alexander Batalov has published on GitHub the source code of the first Fallout with modifications that allow you to run the game not only on PC, but also on smartphones. He noted that to launch the game, you will need to buy its official version in GOG or Steam. Bethesda has not yet responded to Batalov’s project.
