Media: The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation approved the VK project to create a game engine
Last week, the Russian government approved a roadmap called “New System-wide Software” (NOPO). It includes projects on the development of domestic analogues of foreign software. As Kommersant noted, the VK game engine was among such projects.
There are no new details about VK’s plans related to the engine. Earlier, Kommersant reported that the company intends to make the engine by the end of 2025 and spend 2.8 billion rubles out of pocket on it, without attracting state subsidies.
Now the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has approved 70 projects for NOPO. Companies will develop most of them at their own expense, and the state will find customers for them.
