Electronic Arts has guessed the winner of the World Cup for the fourth time in a row
On December 18, Argentina became the new world football champion, beating the French national team. This did not come as a surprise to Electronic Arts (EA) — the company predicted the winner a month ago by simulating all 64 championship matches in EA SPORTS FIFA 23.
EA managed to guess the future champion in the previous three tournaments. In 2010, she predicted the victory of Spain, in 2014 — Germany, and in 2018 — France.
The company makes similar predictions with the help of its other games. For example, EA used the algorithms of the Madden NFL series 11 times to name a potential Super Bowl winner—five of these predictions were correct.
