US Senator Maggie Hassan has written a letter to the head of Valve demanding to explain the dominance of neo-Nazi, misogynistic and other unacceptable content on Steam. She also wants to know how the platform moderates such content, how it responds to user complaints, and whether Valve has employees who actively monitor such activities. The senator is waiting for a response from the company until January 15.
▪️The co-founder of id Software and former CTO of Oculus has announced his retirement from Meta*. John Carmack admitted that he was disappointed in the VR division of the corporation. According to him, Meta* has an incredible number of people and resources, but it constantly wastes all its strength. In the future, Carmack intends to focus on his own startup related to artificial intelligence — Keen Technologies.
Journalist Jason Schreier said that back in November 2021, Blizzard restructured in the hope of improving employee morale and increasing the number of regularly released games. In particular, she appointed general managers of the Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo and unannounced survival Odyssey franchises. Blizzard also recently promoted Allen Adham to chief designer — in this position he will oversee many of the company’s projects.
