Bloomberg: Apple is ready to allow third-party app stores on iOS. So far only in Europe

Apple is going to seriously review the policy of its platform. According to Bloomberg, citing sources, next year the company will allow residents of EU countries to install alternative storages on iPhones and iPads.

Apple is forced to take this step by the “Digital Markets Act” (DMA), which is due to come into force in the coming months. Note that companies are not required to comply with all the requirements of the law until 2024.

Nevertheless, Apple does not intend to completely give up control over iOS. According to Bloomberg, the company is considering the possibility of checking all applications for its devices — it does not matter whether they will be released in the App Store or in an alternative store.
