Embracer Group earned $1.6 billion in six months — almost the same as for the whole of last year
The Swedish company told about this in a report for April-September 2022.
▪️Embracer Group‘s net sales amounted to SEK 16.6 billion ($1.6 billion). For comparison: for the whole of last year, the company earned 17 billion Swedish kronor ($ 1.62 billion at the current exchange rate).
Sales of console and PC games brought 6.4 billion SEK or $607.7 million (+52%), sales of mobile games — 2.9 billion SEK or $278.4 million (+84%), sales of desktop games — 5.9 billion SEK or $562 million.
Embracer Group admitted that the new Saints Row disappointed gamers. Nevertheless, the game met the financial expectations of the company.
The company also announced that Volition studio, which deals with Saints Row, will cease to be subordinate to Deep Silver and will come under the control of Gearbox Software.
The release of Dead Island 2 was postponed to April 28, 2023. Previously, it was assumed that the game will be released on February 3.
Despite the increase in income, the Swedes lowered their financial forecast for the whole year. Embracer now expects adjusted EBIT of SEK 8-10 billion ($760-$950 million) instead of SEK 9.2-11.3 billion ($875 million -$1.07 billion).
