Square Enix has released a report for the first financial half of the year
The Japanese company told how it was doing in the period from April to September 2022. Below are the key facts from the report.
In total, Square Enix earned $1.1 billion in the first half of the year. This is 3.3% less than in 2021. As the publisher explains, one of the reasons for the fall was weaker sales of gaming novelties.
▪️Operating profit decreased by 10.6% to $177.6 million.
In the first half of the year, Square Enix sold 9.41 million copies of games — almost half as much as last year. Recall that a year earlier, the publisher’s games sold 17.22 million copies in six months.
Square Enix did not sell specific games this time.
