Microsoft's gaming division earned $3.61 billion in July-September 2022
This is a record earnings of the company’s gaming business during this calendar period.
However, according to analysts, the annual revenue growth was only somewhere around 0.47%. Then, during the same time, Microsoft‘s gaming revenue amounted to $3.59 billion. Absolutely insignificant growth.
According to the company:
▫️revenue from sales of Xbox consoles increased by 13%;
▫️revenue from the sale of games increased by 4%;
Revenue from the sale of content on Xbox and gaming services fell by 3%.
The latter happened, according to Microsoft, due to the fact that there was a decline in both releases from internal and third-party studios.
Despite such indicators, the CEO of the company Satya Nadella (Satya Nadella) said about the “strong performance” of the console. He also noted that the number of Game Pass subscribers on PC increased by 159% in the quarter compared to the same period a year earlier.
