Kommersant: demand for gaming devices is growing in Russia
The publication makes similar conclusions based on the dynamics of sales of gaming monitors and gaming laptops in the country.
According to Kommersant with reference to “M.Video-El Dorado”:
According to the results of the first nine months of 2022, gaming monitors account for 50% of sales of all monitors in the country (a year earlier the share was 40%);
gaming laptops account for 15% of the market in unit terms and 25% in monetary terms (this is about the same as it was last year).
At the same time, other distributors of equipment in their comments for the publication noted that the growth in sales of gaming laptops relative to last year’s figures is still observed
In total, 320 thousand gaming laptops and 400 thousand gaming monitors were sold in the country in January-September.
The growth in sales of gaming devices is explained both by the desire to relieve stress with their help, and by the fact that, for example, the same laptops related to gaming models are often bought for work.
The nuance is that there may not be any growth at the end of the whole year. Against the background of the departure of most vendors, laptop sales fell by 22% in July alone. Yes, Chinese brands have taken their place and parallel imports have appeared, but there is no certainty that they will fully compensate for the volumes of former supplies.
