The Final Fantasy X series has sold over 20.8 million copies
Square Enix has shared new figures about Final Fantasy X. The Japanese publisher reported that digital sales and physical shipments of the entire series have crossed the milestone of 20.8 million copies — it took 21 years.
The Gematsu portal suggested that approximately 6.8 million copies sold came from remasters. He recalled that in October 2013, two months before the release of the updated editions in Japan (the global release took place three months later), Square Enix boasted that sales of the series exceeded 14 million copies. Nevertheless, the company itself did not specify how many times each particular game was sold.
