1C Entertainment has changed its name. Now it's called Fulqrum Games
1C Entertainment Group of Companies has announced a rebranding. Her new name is Fulqrum Games. This information appeared on the official website of the publisher.
The change occurred as part of a deal with Tencent, which in November 2021 acquired most of the group’s assets that once belonged to 1C.
Today Fulqrum Games is positioned as a Polish company with its head office in Prague, Czech Republic. It also includes Cenega and 1C Online Games (Royal Quest).
According to the Steam account, the company retained the rights to most of the classic 1C titles, including Behind Enemy Lines and Space Rangers.
However, as we wrote earlier, the IL-2 Stormtrooper and Kalibr remained behind 1C Game Studios, which is probably still affiliated with 1C.
Returning to the name. Fulqrum translates as “fulcrum“. The press release explains that they were inspired by the saying of Archimedes: “Give me a fulcrum and I will turn the world around.”
It is reported that the ongoing changes in positioning reflect the new global strategy of the company. She aspires to become a publisher that developers from all over the world can rely on.
