CD PROJEKT has written off almost $10 million spent on the development of a new game in the Witcher universe
CD PROJEKT Group of Companies announced the cancellation of expenses incurred while working on Project Sirius, a multiplayer game in the Witcher universe. They amounted to 42.9 million zlotys or $9.76 million.
CD PROJEKT explained that it decided to do this after evaluating the scale and commercial potential of the original concept of the game. Now developers are “creating a new foundation” for Project Sirius.
Earlier CD PROJEKT reported that Project Sirius is designed for a wider audience compared to other games of the group of companies. It is known that it should have both a multiplayer and a story campaign. Project Sirius is being developed by the American studio The Molasses Flood, which CD PROJEKT bought in 2021.
