The producer of the Final Fantasy franchise has left Square Enix after 28 years at the company
Shinji Hashimoto has decided to retire. Yesterday, he announced that he will no longer work at Square Enix and will now support it only as a fan of games.
Hashimoto joined the Japanese company in April 1994, taking up the position of co-producer of Front Mission. Since then, he has managed to be a producer of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises, and was also an executive director of Square Enix Holdings.
