Inexperienced management and lack of Ubisoft support — what problems did the authors of the Prince of Persia remake face?
In early May, Ubisoft announced the transfer of the Prince of Persia remake development: The Sands of Time from India to Canada, in Ubisoft Montreal. The company did not explain what the decision was related to. But now it has been found out by Indian journalist Rishi Alwani (Rishi Alwani).
According to his sources, Ubisoft poorly monitored the creation of the remake. For example, she almost did not provide the developers with documentation, and they had to make the game almost from scratch. Also, at some point, the company outsourced the game to Electric Square, but to no avail.
Among other problems, Indian studios had to work with an inconvenient engine for Assassin’s Creed Origins, and the remake’s game director had never supervised game development before.
