Genshin Impact earned $1 billion in less than six months. This is a new record for mobile games
The mobile version of Genshin Impact has earned over $1 billion in the App Store and Google Play. It took six months. No mobile game has ever earned a billion so fast.
The number of months it took the games to earn the first billion dollars
Sensor Tower reported on the achievement of the project in its latest report.
Analysts recalled that the previous record holder of Pokémon Go took nine months to get the first billion. And the most profitable mobile game at the moment, PUBG Mobile, took a little more than 16 months to do it at all.
According to analysts, Genshin Impact was able to achieve such success, among other things, due to the fact that developers regularly release fresh content. New events, features and, most importantly, characters are constantly being added to the game. For example, on March 2, the heroine Hu Tao appeared in the title, immediately after which the daily expenses of the players increased to almost $ 13 million. For comparison: since the release, Genshin Impact has earned an average of $5.8 million a day.

The main markets for the game were China ($302 million), Japan ($278.3 million) and the United States ($189 million).
It should be noted that in incomplete March Genshin Impact collected $148 million on mobile devices, excluding Chinese Android stores. Also, over the past 30 days, Genshin Impact has lost revenue to only two projects: PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings. But if we exclude China from the statistics, then the game becomes the highest-grossing mobile project in the world.
