Phoenix Labs, known for the Dauntless role-playing game, opens two new studios
Developer Phoenix Labs, known for the Dauntless free-to-play role-playing game, has announced an expansion. The company is opening two new offices — in Montreal and Los Angeles – to work on future projects.The Montreal office will be managed by gaming industry veteran Andre Roy, who worked at Ubisoft on the Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six franchises.
The Los Angeles studio will be run by Omar Kendall, a former Riot Games product manager.
The new Phoenix Labs divisions will focus on developing prototypes for future games.
The company plans to increase its staff to 250 people by the end of next year.
Now the main project of Phoenix Labs is the Dauntless free-play RPG, which has attracted 25 million users since its release in 2019.
