Grounded's audience has grown to 5 million players
The Grounded survival simulator has a new achievement — 5 million people entered the game in a little more than three months. At the same time, Obsidian Entertainment released the largest update for the title. Now players will be able to fight for life in a pond with koi carp.
The developers of Grounded shared information about the record size of the audience on the Xbox Wire website. However, these figures are not necessarily related to the sales of the game — survival is also available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Nevertheless, the Grounded team itself reacted with great enthusiasm to the news. For example, Marcus Morgan from Xbox Game Studios made a tattoo of the robot BURG.L, one of the characters of the game.
Obsidian has also launched a new biome in Grounded — a pond in the backyard. Along with the locations, new creatures like koi carp, tadpoles and water spiders appeared in the title. In addition, the update brought fresh recipes for crafting, even more puzzles and underwater gameplay mechanics, “allowing you to dive deeper than ever before.”
Grounded has also received an improved version for the Xbox Series X/S. On both consoles of the new generation, survival works at 60 fps and boasts more detailed graphics, accelerated downloads and HDR support.
While the game Obsidian is still in early access (the release took place at the end of July 2020). A full-fledged launch is promised to be held in 2021.
