Media: Ninja streamer could get $20-30 million from Mixer for leaving Twitch
In August, the popular Ninja streamer preferred Mixer to the more popular Twitch platform. The estimated amount of his deal with Mixer became known — $ 20-30 million.
This is reported by CNN with reference to the Ader agency. The latter works with popular influencers, including Tyler Blevins, better known as Ninja.
Ader CEO Justin Warden said that Mixer allegedly offered Blevins $20-$30 million for exclusive streaming. This is at least twice as much as Mixer is rumored to have offered other top influencers. Nevertheless, Ninja was the number one gaming streamer on Twitch, where he earned $10 million a year. This explains its cost.
As Worden noted, the deal is concluded for several years. But it is not known exactly how much. Neither Microsoft (the owner of Mixer) nor the streamer team give comments.
The transition cost Ninja a significant part of the audience. There were 14 million subscribers to his channel on Twitch. On Mixer — only 2.8 million. The latter is seriously inferior to Twitch in terms of market share, hours of broadcasts and views. Nevertheless, other famous people continue to switch to it, for example, the streamer Shroud.
At the same time, a number of streamers refused to leave the popular platform, citing the disadvantages of Mixer as a streaming service. Among such disadvantages are the lack of tools to combat trolls and a fairly strict dress code.
