The head of Supercell earned more in 2018 than anyone else in Finland

Last year was very successful for Ilkka Paananen. The CEO of Supercell earned €110 million in twelve months. This is €45 million more than a year earlier.

Ilkka Paananen (photo: Yle) This is reported by the Finnish edition of Yle with reference to the list published by the tax administration of the country.

It should be noted that the Finnish government shares this list with the population every year.

Thanks to the amount received, Paananen again topped this list. Supercell employee Mikko Kodisoja also took the second place in terms of annual revenue. He earned €98 million. Kodisoya is the co—founder and creative director of the company.

In both cases, we are talking not only directly about salary, but also about earnings from the capital already available to managers (here — capital income).

Unlike Paananen and Kodisoya, 2018 was not the most successful year for Supercell itself. The studio, consisting of about 300 employees, earned € 1.3 billion (almost €800 million less than in 2017), and its revenue amounted to €537 million (€ 380 million less than in 2017).

By the way, according to PocketGamer.biz , in Finland, the personal income tax is 51%. In this regard, it is unclear whether the tax administration shared earnings after taxes or before.
