The restructuring at Starbreeze will lead to the creation of two new companies. They will be given the remaining assets and employees that are related to the publisher’s core business.

According to a new Starbreeze report, its activities will be distributed as follows:

  • New Starbreeze Publishing AB will publish games and generate revenue;
  • in turn, New Starbreeze Studios AB will be engaged in direct development.

All assets of Starbreeze will be transferred to the new publisher. They are estimated at $162.3 million, writes PC Games Insider. Most of them are the Payday IP series.

Recall that as part of the restructuring, Starbreeze sold many of its IP. So, System Shock 3, Dead by Daylight and Psychonauts 2 returned to their developers. Starbreeze itself was engaged in the development of Payday 3, but now reports that the title will be released no earlier than 2022.

Restructuring in the Swedish company has been going on for almost a year. This process was extended three times. Starbreeze has only 1.5 months left before its completion.
