Auto Chess has been released on mobile devices. So far, only for Android
From the sensational fashion for Dota 2, a mobile game was made — Auto Chess. The project was released in a softlonch on Google Play. The new product is not yet available on iOS.
In March, the authors of the DOTA Auto Chess mod — Drodo Studios — entered into a partnership with the Chinese publisher Dragonest Game. By that time, the custom modification had become a hit, gaining 7 million downloads in two months. The mod has significantly improved Dota 2 indicators such as PC audience and peak online. A number of analysts have expressed the opinion that Auto Chess can give rise to a new genre*.
* And indeed, she already has many clones on her mobile, including Russian and Chinese. And even Valve itself, the developer of Dota 2, announced the release of its own version of Auto Chess, according to Pocket Gamer.
Auto Chess has been redesigned specifically for mobile devices. To begin with: now the game has nothing to do with Dota. All characters and their skills have been replaced with the original ones.
Some mechanics have also changed. For example, now the player places the pieces on the game board by simply dragging. On the PC version, this process was a bit more complicated. Drodo also added explanations to the drop-down equipment for the characters to make it easier to combine.
But the basic gameplay has remained the same. It’s still an eight-player strategy. They fight in pairs in “chess arenas”, exposing their pieces (characters). Pairs of opponents for each round are selected randomly. The rounds add up to 40-minute sessions. The winner of the session is the player who managed to defeat the other seven.
There is reason to believe that Auto Chess is waiting for the same success as DOTA Auto Chess. In a few days, according to Google Play, downloads of the game on Android devices exceeded 500 thousand.
By the way, the project is already localized for Russian-speaking players, albeit imperfectly.
