SuperData has created a tool that predicts the revenue and MAU of future titles
The analytical company SuperData has added a new tool to its Arcade product. This is a service called Arcade Forecaster. Its function is to forecast revenue, MAU and in—game expenses in games based on current market trends.
Arcade Forecaster evaluates the conditions in the PC, console and mobile markets and makes a forecast for them. The tool can be useful to publishers and developers of both already released and future titles. It will allow you to assess the interest of players in various genres, mechanics and trends.
As an example of such a forecast, SuperData provides an assessment of the premium console games market for the next 24 months. So, according to Arcade Forecaster, its indicators will decrease in 2019, but then they may increase sharply in 2020. The first will happen due to the lack of new projects and the growing popularity of free-to-play games (Fortnite, Apex Legends). The second is due to the possible launch of a new generation console from Sony and other developments.
Arcade Forecaster is also designed to estimate the revenue of a separate list of games. For example, the titles of the Call of Duty or Red Dead Redemption 2 series (the list will grow). The service takes into account how much revenue was received from sales of the game itself, and which — from microtransactions, subscriptions, etc. Such forecasts give a good idea of the most effective ways of monetization in the market. In addition, publishers and developers will be able to monitor the success of their main competitors, as well as projects gaining popularity.
Recall that Arcade is a SuperData project that collects summary figures on gaming platforms and markets from profile and media analysts. It gives access to conversion data, average user spending, MAU and total revenue.
