Anthem sells twice as bad in British retail as Mass Effect: Andromeda

At the same time, the new BioWare game became number one in the UK chart over the past week.

Anthem
Anthem managed to top the UK retail in the first week of release.

But in fact, his achievements are much more modest. If we compare the sales of the new online shooter with the previous BioWare game – Mass Effect: Andromeda, then Anthem sold half as many physical copies.

The calculation did not take into account digital sales on different platforms. But even so, the results of Anthem are not impressive. The game lags behind not only Mass Effect: Andromeda (which before Anthem was the lowest rated title of BioWare), but also from a colleague in the genre — Destiny.

According to Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, Anthem sales in the first week accounted for only 10% of Destiny’s release sales on physical media. It’s all in the UK.

Recent novelties, such as Kingdom Hearts III and Resident Evil 2, also give Anthem a head start, Eurogamer reports. So, taking into account the current ratings of the game (60 points on Metacritic), Anthem’s leadership in the UK chart does not mean that everything is fine with the game.
