Nintendo earned $300 million on mobile in a year
Most of the revenue was generated by Fire Emblem Heroes.
Newzoo analysts told how successful Nintendo’s mobile direction was in 2018.
General statistics:
- Mobile brought the company more than $300 million.
- 10% of the revenue from all Nintendo games in January — September was generated by mobile. This is 1% more than Nintendo earned on mobile games for the whole of 2017.
Game Data:
- The most profitable mobile title — Fire Emblem Heroes — earned $200 million. This is more than 60% of the total income from mobile.
- The new IP Dragalia Lost collected $ 50 million dollars in three months after the release. Its share in the total revenue from mobile is 15%.
- Nintendo’s first big mobile game, Super Mario Run, generated $7 million in a year. This is only 2.4% of all mobile revenue.
Market data:
- The largest market for Nintendo is Japan (59% of the total mobile turnover).
- The second largest market is the USA (27% of the total mobile turnover).
