The creator of Hearthstone decided to leave Blizzard

The project manager of the Hearthstone card game Ben Brode announced his departure from Blizzard. Brod worked in it for 15 years, 10 of which were engaged in the development of Hearthstone.

“They pay too much attention to me as a public representative of Hearthstone. But besides me, over 80 people are working on the project. They come up with new maps, mechanics, events, features, and so on.

Therefore, I leave Hearthstone in the most reliable hands possible,” Brod wrote on the official Hearthstone forum.

After leaving Blizzard, Ben Broad wants to participate in the creation of a new company. He hinted that his company would most likely make video games.

Hearthstone is the largest free—to-play card game on the market.

According to the analytical company SuperData, in 2017 the title earned $217 million and entered the top ten most profitable freeplay titles of the year.

According to Blizzard, in May last year, the game’s audience exceeded 70 million people.
