The rivalry between the leaders of the “battle royale” genre has moved to mobile. The mobile version of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS from Tencent topped the iOS download charts in Russia and 47 other countries, according to the Sensor Tower analytical company.
In our country, PUBG turned out to be more popular than its main competitor — Fortnite Battle Royale.
In addition to Russia, PUBG leads in iOS downloads in regions such as Germany, Canada and Australia, but is inferior to Fortnite in the USA, France and the UK.
The international release of the mobile PUBG took place on March 18, 3 days after the release of Fortnite on iOS.
Fortnite debuted more successfully than PUBG, climbing to the top of the charts of free-play games for iOS in 89 countries in 2 days. But by now the hype has subsided, and now the game holds the 1st place in only 15 regions.

Mobile PUBG has another advantage over Fortnite — it is available not only on iOS, but also on Android. The promotion of the game is also helped by the fact that, unlike the “full-format” version, PUBG is distributed on mobile according to the frituplay model.
