The creators of Pokémon GO accused the Ukrainian studio of plagiarism

The authors of the mobile hit Pokémon GO studio Niantic are dissatisfied with the game Draconius Go by the Ukrainian developer Elyland because of the similarity with their project, the business publication Forbes reports. It is reported that Niantic has notified Elyland of copyright infringement.

According to Forbes, Niantic informed Elyland of the intellectual property infringement privately through the App Store.

Elyland, in turn, insists on 100% originality of its title.

“We have consulted with world-class lawyers and are convinced that Niantic’s accusations are completely groundless. Their reaction suggests that they see us as a serious rival,” said Andrey Semenyuk, founder and CEO of Elyland.

According to Semenyuk, the Elyland team can be proud of the results of their work. He called the graphics in Draconius Go “unique and the best among all AR games.”

Draconius Go is a geolocation mobile AR game where, as in Pokémon GO, players search for and catch fantastic creatures while exploring the surroundings using a mobile device.
