The size of top apps has grown 11 times
The amount of memory occupied by the top ten most popular iOS apps has increased 11 times over the past 4 years — from 164 megabytes to 1.8 gigabytes.
Such statistics are provided by the mobile analytical company Sensor Tower.
Most noticeably, the Snapchat messenger has become heavier, the size of which has grown 51 times from 2013 to 2017, from 4 to 203 megabytes.

Facebook Messenger has increased the least, the latest version of which takes up 6 times more memory than the first.
A noticeable jump in the increase in the volume of mobile applications occurred in 2016.
Sensor Tower marks an increase in the size of mobile games. Clash of Clans, a popular strategy from Supercell, increased over the period under review from 49 to 116 megabytes, and three in a row Candy Crush Saga from King began to weigh 223 megabytes instead of 48.
In its study, Sensor Tower estimated only the size of the software core of applications and did not take into account the accompanying content.
