The authors of Subway Surfers hired the head of Pet Rescue Saga
Sybo’s ambitions are growing. Following the plans to launch a television show, the authors of Subway Surfers announced the hiring of the former head of the King Studio in Malmo, Daniel Persson.
In the Danish studio, Persson will be mainly responsible for game development, but they say he will also help the company with marketing and analytics. Officially, his new position at Sybo sounds like “head of the gaming division”.
“It is incredible what the team has achieved with Subway Surfers, but I am sure that they can achieve even more in building a magnificent universe that is truly worthy of the fans’ love,” Daniel said in connection with his transition.
Prior to that, he was the head of the casual division at Goodgame, and at King, as head of the studio in Malmo, he had a hand in the development of Pet Rescue Saga, plus, he was noted in senior positions at Starbreeze and IO Interactive.
For Sybo, this is not the first major appointment this year. In the spring, the company announced the hiring of Hollywood producer Sandra Schwartz and Star Wars Rebels screenwriter Brent Friedman to work on Subway Surfers series.
