Take-Two Interactive's annual revenue increased by 26%
The revenues of Take-Two Interactive Software publishing house increased by 26% and amounted to $1.7 billion at the end of fiscal year 2017, according to the company’s report.
Moreover, over the last quarter, Take-Two’s revenues increased by 52% to $571.6 million compared to the same period of the previous year.
It is noted that revenues from digital sales for the year increased by 32% to $ 921.7 million. The bulk of digital purchases fell on the titles Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto Online, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI and Mafia III.
The 2017 fiscal year of Take-Two Interactive ended on March 31, 2017.
“The results exceeded our expectations. They are due to the excellent performance of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, as well as the range of various games of our publishing house. We are investing in the development and diversification of our business, including through the acquisition of the mobile developer Social Point,” said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take—Two Interactive.
He also said that the Rockstar Games studio owned by Take-Two decided to postpone the release of the expected Red Dead Redemption 2 game for spring 2018 in order to properly optimize it for the latest generation consoles.
